Finding a college and knowing what classes you need to take can feel complicated, but it doesn’t have to. These resources can help you get started.
College Search
CaliforniaColleges.edu – A great resource for finding colleges in your area as well as getting advice on planning your college career, learning how to apply for financial aid, and preparing for college exams.
Transferring Credits
Assist.org – An easy-to-use resource that helps you determine what courses can be transferred from one college to another. Specifically from California community colleges to California universities.
Financial Aid and Grants
College Financial Aid
icanaffordcollege.org – College can be expensive, but that doesn’t mean you can’t afford it. Financial assistance is readily available if you know where to look. FAFSA.gov – Go here to start your financial aid application.
Chafee.gov – Grant program for foster youth.
CalGrants.org – Apply for a Cal Grant.
Dream ACT – The California Dream Act allows undocumented and nonresident documented students who meet certain provisions to apply for and receive private scholarships funded through public universities, state-administered financial aid, university grants, community college fee waivers, and Cal Grants.
