Rancho’s Youth Diversion Program engages and supports youth who are at risk of offending or entering the formal youth justice system. The program offers community based, culturally sensitive, person-centered, evidence-based case management services, which are delivered primarily by a Youth Diversion Case Manager.
Case Managers utilize the Attachment, Regulation and Competency (ARC) trauma informed care model to deliver services, from initial engagement to termination.
Each youth is assessed using a strength-based approach. Areas of interest and need are identified providing linkages to appropriate community resources including educational, vocational, recreational, legal, and access to support concrete needs such as food and housing.
This program offers services within Geographical Area 5 (Panorama City, Sylmar, Pacoima, Sun Valley, Van Nuys and neighboring communities) as well as Geographical Area 12 (Santa Clarita and neighboring communities).
